Dr. Jen Halter is an educator, leader, and advocate committed to transforming schools through purpose-driven leadership. Her work combines more than two decades of frontline educational leadership with practical, research-informed strategies that help people grow.
My Story
From the Classroom to Statewide Leadership
Dr. Halter began in the classroom teaching 8th grade English and coaching cross country and track. Over more than 20 years, she has served as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal at both junior high and high school levels. Most recently, she led Clay High School from one of the lowest-performing schools in the district to record-breaking student achievement.
She holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of North Florida, where she completed the university’s first published autoethnography capturing her lived experience as a woman in leadership. She was named the 2021 Florida Principal of the Year and was recognized in 2025 as a National Finalist for the AASA Women in Leadership Award.
Beyond leadership and consulting, she is a wife, mom of two daughters, and a leader who believes leadership is not about having all the answers—it is about creating space for others to succeed.

A Question That Guides the Work
The question “How can I help?” was inspired by the show New Amsterdam . For Dr. Halter, it became a leadership stance: be present, be resourceful, and be ready to serve.
Her work includes school turnaround, master scheduling across districts, closing achievement gaps, mentoring aspiring leaders, culture and climate work, strategic planning, community engagement, leadership pipelines, coaching, DISC, masterminds, workshops, and keynotes.
